Australia must plan for oil-free future: Senator.

The Federal Government has been urged to start planning for the imminent decline in world oil supplies.
The call comes from the outgoing chair of the Senate's Rural and Regional Affairs Committee, Greens Senator Rachel Siewert.
The committee has spent the past nine months examining Australia's oil supply.
Senator Siewert has tabled her interim report, and says all sides of the debate agree that declining world oil supplies are cause for concern.
"The committee feels that Australia should be planning for it now, as has Sweden with its plan to be oil-free by 2020," she said.
"The committee also felt that it is clear that gas should be also carefully looked at and that there was also a need for longer-term planning."
