Cummins Westport Receives Confirmation of 500 Unit Sale from Delhi Transport Corporation

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 24, 2007) - Cummins Westport Inc. ("CWI"), a leading provider of high-performance alternative fuel engines for the global market, announced today that Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has ordered 500 Tata low-floor buses equipped with the Cummins Westport B Gas International (BGI) engine rated at 230 bhp and running on clean burning compressed natural gas (CNG). These are licensed by Cummins Westport and manufactured by Cummins India Limited.
"This is our first major sale in India following the successful production launch of the B Gas International engine by Cummins India Limited," said Guan Saw, President of Cummins Westport. "The combination of the BGI low emission technology and strong local support from Cummins India Limited will provide DTC and Tata Motors Limited with reliable products and service for many years to come."
CIL Chairman and Cummins Vice-President, Anant Talaulicar said: "CIL started local production of BGI natural gas engines in 2006 at CIL's state-of-the-art Daman facility in Western India. This order is a fitting market launch of the BGI natural gas engine in the local bus market."
