NAMC Newswire - Hybrid Vehicles Are in Vogue, From Ethanol to Fuel Cells: "NEW YORK, NY, (NAMC) On the heels of President Bushs State of the Union Address which focused on alternative energy and ethanol, Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is yet again bringing its commitment to American innovation with ways to boost the availability of energy -savings vehicles. Ford is teaming up with energy partners, city and state governments, public and private companies to further expand the hottest energy savings vehicle on the market the Escape Hybrid E85, vehicles capable of running on E85 ethanol.

E85 ethanol is a fuel blend that contains 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. The great thing about ethanol is that its completely renewable fuel, and its made from corn. One of the hurdles that Ford is trying to overcome are ethanol-related vapor and combustion issues, which they feel that they could overcome very shortly.

Ford also has an ongoing partnership with VeraSun Energy, which is a renewable energy company. This partnership will allow Ford to launch the beginnings of a Mid West Ethanol Corridor. This will expand E85 ethanol fuel availability by about one-third throughout the states of Illinois and Missouri.

Also in the works are Hybrid taxi cabs, cities such as Chicago. New York City and San Francisco have already put Ford Escape Hybrid E85 taxis on the road, which contributes to substantial savings on gas and improved quality air. Many other neighboring states will follow suit by converting to energy savings vehicles and the usage of ethanol.

On another alternative fuel solution, the world's largest fleet of fuel cell vehicles, Daimler Chrysler (NYSE: DCX) unveiled five new fuel-cell powered Mercedes- Benz cars to be used in Los Angeles Internation"
