Cummins Westport to Supply Indian-Manufactured B Gas International Engine for Demonstration Bus Project in New Delhi, India

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 9, 2006) - Cummins Westport Inc. ("CWI") today announced the initiation of a one-year demonstration of clean transportation technology in New Delhi, India which will include six compressed natural gas (CNG) -fuelled buses powered by the Cummins Westport B Gas International engine, which is now being locally assembled in India for domestic and export markets. The demonstration is part of a Canadian consortium including CWI, ATF Advanced Technologies & Fuels Canada Inc. ("ATFCAN") and Dynetek Industries.

The project will integrate technologies and products from CWI and Dynetek to demonstrate Canadian natural gas vehicle technologies for the Indian market, including the B Gas International engine and fuel storage systems.

"CWI is excited about collaborating with our Canadian partners to bring CWI advanced CNG engine technology to this bus demonstration project in New Delhi," said Guan Saw, President of Cummins Westport. "We are thrilled to work with Tata Motors Ltd. ("Tata") in this project as Tata will be installing our Indian-manufactured CWI natural gas engines in their buses. The demonstration project in New Delhi will provide further impetus to reduce air pollution in the city as New Delhi will be hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2010."

With nearly 10,000 CNG buses in service, Delhi has the largest clean natural gas bus fleet in the world. Air quality in New Delhi has improved dramatically since a Supreme Court order in 2002 mandated the city's entire bus fleet to convert to cleaner-burning compressed natural gas (CNG).
