Global Warming is really happening, provided you choose the correct time frame.
Earth has experienced many periods of glaciation when climate was colder than now and there was widespread ice.
Between glacial periods are interglacial periods, when climate warms and ice melts.
Right now we are going through an interglacial period. Ice is melting. Temperature has risen above Ice Age temperatures. That is real Global Warming, measured in thousands to tens of thousands of years.
Eventually we may enter a next Ice Age when climate cools and ice again covers large areas.
The issue is not whether we have Global Warming, because obviously the huge continental glaciers are melted and gone except at the North and South Poles. The issue is whether the actions of people are in any way affecting global temperature, and whether those effects are or may be harmful.
Global Warming fanatics say that atmospheric carbon dioxide that people produce by burning fuel is causing Global Warming. Volcanoes return far more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere than the amount produced by burning coal, petroleum and wood. Hardly any mention is made of water vapor as a potent Global Warming gas. Water vapor is far more abundant than carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and a far more potent atmospheric warming agent. Hardly any mention is made concerning the release of carbon dioxide by plants at night. Plants metabolize carbon compounds just as animals do, and 'exhale' carbon dioxide into the atmosphere during darkness when photosynthesis is shut down.
Forests are championed as 'carbon sinks' that capture and remove atmospheric carbon dioxide. Nobody seems to notice that orders of magnitude more carbon dioxide is captured and stored in limestone and dolomite sedimentary rocks that cover millions of square miles to thousands of feet depth. Environmentalists standing on a limestone mountain fail to see the rocks and consider only the trees as part of the carbon cycle.
Oxygen isotope data show that during the Mesozoic geological period there were times when atmospheric carbon dixoide concentration was far higher than today. Earth was lush with life and failed to burn up from Global Warming.
Global Warming is a religion and a cash cow for unethical scientists and environmentalists willing to sell out truth for money and political power. It is yet another example of the corruption that accompanies government intrusion, in this case, even intrusion into supposedly objective scientific investigation.
