After 32 years as a senior oil executive, Greg Bourne decided on a radical career change. One day, he noticed a job ad in the paper and decided, on a whim, to apply for the position as CEO of one of Australia's most influential environmental organisations, WWF.

Well, he got the job and Greg Bourne has since emerged as one of the most outspoken environmental lobbyists in Australia, which at times has made him unpopular, particularly with the Prime Minister John Howard.
