What a hoot !

Bob Geldof Steaming Mad Over Global Warming Concert

Some say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but Bob Geldof apparently thinks Al Gore is just a big, stupid copycat.
Gore is currently organizing Live Earth, a benefit concert to raise funds and awareness about global warming. Geldof, the mastermind behind the Live Aid and Live 8 benefit concerts, told Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant that he takes umbrage at the similar names. "It sounds like Live 8... We're getting lots of responses from people who think we are organizing it."
Gore also totally wore the same outfit as Geldof to the Sadie Hawkins dance, though Bob is probably just jealous that the former vice-president wore it better.
Geldof went on to question whether Live Earth would have any real impact on global warming, saying, "I would only organize [Live Earth] if I could go on stage and announce concrete environmental measures from the American presidential candidates, Congress or major corporations... They haven't got those guarantees, so it's just an enormous pop concert or the umpteenth time that, say, Madonna or Coldplay get up on stage."
Yeah! Because as soon as the Pet Shop Boys took the stage during Live 8, every African nation found themselves footloose and debt-free!
Speaking of Madonna, she's set to release a track called "Hey You," which will be available to purchase online through Microsoft's Zune platform, with the proceeds going toward Live Earth. Fansite drownedmadonna.com described it as "a simple song, not at all like 'Confessions...' music."
So... it won't suck, then? Or will it just suck in a different way?
