Allco enters European wind market - Breaking News
Allco Finance Group's wind energy division has entered the European wind energy market, with the purchase of four German wind farms.
The four farms have been purchased from German wind energy developer WPD AG, although one of the four won't change hands until later in the year.
When the transaction is complete, all four will have a total installed capacity of 64 MW.
The company also announced an in-principle agreement to buy another eight wind farms in Germany and France.
The agreement, with JUWI GmbH, will provide Allco a further total installed capacity of 48.5 MW to feed into the European energy market.
"Allco is delighted with these transactions, which kick off Allco's wind energy business in Europe, the largest wind energy market in the world.
"We expect these to be the first of a strong pipeline of transactions in the EU," said Allco's head of wind energy in Europe, Christopher Mansfield.
