Major pipeline gas project in Western Australia: News from Delta Controls

Delta Controls has secured its first major order in Western Australia for pressure switches. The order was for 27 of the all stainless steel construction 231 and 301 Performance models, for the DBNGP (Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline) stage 4-expansion project. The DBNGP expansion project consists of the widening of the existing corridor, which starts just south of Karratha and stretches 1,500km to just North of Perth.
The corridor is being widened from 30m to 100m; as a result the gas compressor stations along this corridor are to be refurbished.
The pressure switches installed are to be used to monitor the high discharge pressure on the compressors.
Delta Controls dislodged the major vendors already installed to win this refurbishment order.
The key success for this is that Delta could offer a bespoke solution that no other competitor could within the time frame.
Quality and certification were said to be key in winning this project, as well as the requirement for manual reset with DPDT switching.
The pressure switches needed to be able to sustain high process temperatures as well as being IS compliant.
The Delta Controls dedicated product development and engineering teams identified the application and developed the product that would enable these requirements to be met.
Delta Controls prides itself on offering bespoke engineering solutions to a variety of sectors, and customers can depend upon a flexible response from the Delta Controls product specialists.
