Commodities - Lower pollution sees CO2 permit prices fall 30%

Prices for polluting under the European Union's emissions trading scheme lost more than a quarter of their value yesterday – the biggest one day fall since the scheme started in January 2005.

The plunge was triggered by some European countries saying they were polluting by less than the scheme allows.
